Low Grocery Prices for Nov. 1 – 7

Here are the sales I’ve sifted with my Price Book data for the Longview, Texas area as the items at the lowest end of their price range.  I hope this helps you with your grocery budget!

Cheese, 16oz for $1.99 at Albertson’s.  This is limit 2 and only good for Friday through Sunday.  Regularly $0.11-$0.37/oz.

Zucchini for $0.79/lb at Albertson’s.  Regularly $0.53-$1.29/lb, but it only gets that low in May and it’s usually $0.99/lb or more at Aldi, so this is a good off-season price!

Canned Pumpkin 15oz for $0.79 at Aldi.  They are usually this price, just FYI, don’t go crazy 🙂  But as much as $1.29 at other stores.

Brown Sugar 32oz for $0.99 at Aldi.  This is one of those “buy 6 months’ worth” deals.  Usually as high as $2.19, it only gets this low in the baking seasons – November, December, March and April.  White sugar ought to be in December if you’re needing some.

Coconut Flakes 14oz for $1.29 at Aldi.  I don’t watch these too closely since one bag lasts us a long time, but they are probably at nearly their lowest price.  I need to get more because the unsweetened ones are great for adding a healthy element to a lot of things for the kids, like oatmeal, yogurt, cereal, PB roll ups, etc.

Pie Crusts for $1.39 at Aldi.  Lowest I’ve seen.  Usually $1.50-$2.79.

USDA Choice Black Angus Chuck Roast for $2.47/lb at Aldi.  This is limit 4 roasts.  Regularly $2.49-$4.99/lb.

Baby Carrots 16oz for $0.49 at Aldi.  Another good one!  Regularly priced $0.49-$1.49.

Acorn, Butternut, and Spaghetti Squash for $0.69 each at Aldi.  These are priced per EACH.  Not per pound like other stores.  Read my words… RECORD LOW PRICE.  Buy and freeze what you can!  YUM!

Raspberries 6oz for $0.99 at Aldi.  Hooray!  I love it when berries are cheap, cheap, cheap!  This is as low as raspberries get – they are usually $2.50 for this amount.  Enjoy fresh now!  Freeze for later!

Green Bell Pepper for $0.26/ea at Aldi.  These come in a 3-pack for $0.79.  They are usually $0.23-$0.92 each.  Dice and freeze for soups!  Let me know if you want to have a pepper dicing party 🙂

Yellow Onions $0.26/lb at Aldi.  These come in 3lb bags.  Regularly $0.23-$1.99/lb.  Next time they will be low is probably February.  Let’s make it a pepper and onion-dicing party!

Yukon Gold Potatoes for $0.20/lb at Aldi.  Sold in a 5lb bag for $0.99.  Another record low.  Regularly $0.26/lb (in December and April) up to $0.58/lb at other times of the year.

*Folger’s Coffee 24-30oz for $5.49 at Kroger.  Record low on this item, which is usually $5.99-$8.99.  It is part of the “Buy 10” event, which means you need to purchase 10 qualifying items for this price to qualify – otherwise it will be $5.99.

Comfort’s Baby Food Pouch 4oz for $0.59/ea at Kroger.  I really have only bought these things once so I don’t know how they compare ingredients-wise to other brands, but this is a good price for “baby food pouches” in general.

*Pringles Chips $0.89/ea at Kroger.  Oh, how I wish I would not be tempted by these!  They’re for hubby and the kids 🙂  Regularly $0.88-$1.49.

*Halo Top Ice Cream for $3.99 at Kroger.  Regularly $3.49-$5.37.  Check your coupon stash to see if you can make this deal even better.

Vegetable Oil 48oz for $1.97 at Super 1.  Usually $0.04-$0.09/oz, so this is a good price.

Bottled Water 35ct for $3.15 at Super 1.  This is $0.09/bottle, and the lowest is $0.08/bottle, but as much as $0.17/bottle.  I do not compare brands or types of bottled water, FYI.  Usually I just like to keep some in the back of the van so I buy a pack when they get low.  Also, if you’re looking to get a turkey (listed below) and you need to spend $25 at least, this might be something you’d like to spend it on.

Hormel Lunchmeat Ham sliced fresh in the deli for $4.97/lb at Super 1.  If fresh-sliced lunchmeat is important to you, Super 1 has the best sales (not compared to prepackaged), but usually just on one kind of protein at a time.  This week it’s ham.  According to my record, they have this price on various deli meats almost once a month.  I am going to highly recommend getting a turkey (listed below) or two, and this is another smart option for how to meet the $25 additional purchase requirements.

Whole Turkey for $0.37/lb at Super 1.  This is a once-a-year sale that will probably last for a couple of weeks until Thanksgiving.  Aside from perhaps needing one for Thanksgiving turkey, this is the smartest meat purchase you can make this year.  After it is cooked and deboned, the meat yield is $1.12/lb, which is the lowest that I’ve calculated compared to all other meat that I’ve looked at.  You can look on my Project Chicken page for more detailed comparison.  I would recommend planning (if it’s in your budget and you have space in your freezer) getting as many as you can every week that this sale price runs.  This week there is a limit of 2 turkeys (they are an average of 11-24lbs each) and you have to spend an additional $25 at Super 1 to qualify for this price.  However, if you spend it on some of the other great deals at Super 1 this week, it will be money well-spent!  (i.e., 4lbs of lunch meat and 2 cases of water, for example).

Enjoy!  Let me know what you’re excited to get!
